Hi John,

I retted some Yucca Filamentosa leaf fibers for about two weeks and to be honest I can see very little difference in the ones I normally scrape, rinse, and clean from the retted ones. I saw the nice white, soft, and clean Yucca fibers you did in the DVD video so I am wondering if they are from a different variety of Yucca? Thanks.

Well, guess I can't answer that. Not certain what species used. We have some that grows naturally here, some plants that we transplanted from OK, and we often pick leaves while on journeys west so the ones we used could have come from about anywhere. I would think that they would work out about the same. Maybe the two weeks wasn't long enough - I know that we have soaked some longer on occasion. Nice smell, huh?

We have also retted Velvet Leaf (buttonweed)  with similar results.

Could be I need to ret them longer. Doesn't smell as bad as sewage but it definitely does smell rotten. LOL
